Heartbeat

We had our doctor's appointment today and initially it was suppose to be later today with the regular person I see but she called in sick so I was worried as to who the replacement was going to be, plus they had to move the appt. to 11am. The replacement was great...I really haven't found a bad person in this OB/GYN dept. After like 5 pages of personal questions to most of which my answers were no ( I lead a pretty dull life) I got to hop up on the table and see if we could hear the heartbeat. Since I am only 7 1/2 weeks pregnant she warned me that we might not hear it. After some searching she found it! It was so faint and we only heard it for a little bit but off in the distance we heard a rapid heartbeat. Very exciting. The doctor said she was rock star for finding it...it cracked us up.
For a few weeks now I have had a really bad feeling that there was more then one baby in there...don't ask me why, it was just a feeling. But the doctor said that my uterus was too small for multiples so most likely there was only one. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with twins (Paul & Tara), but having twins after you already have one and in the small sized house we have would have been very interesting. I knew I wasn't one of those intuitive moms who knows things like what the sex of her baby is so I don't know why I was worried about this feeling. :)

Garbage Man

Every Thursday morning Hannah and I go running outside when we hear our garbage truck coming down the street. We have the same guy every week and he is really great. He waves at Hannah and honks the horn for us sometimes (which I am sure the neighbors love) and Hannah loves it. We always have to stand out there until the truck goes around the corner and we cannot see him anymore.
Yesterday we ran out there as usual but this time our garbage man pulled up to our house and stopped, turned off his truck and came out to give Hannah a video on garbage trucks called "There goes a garbage truck!". Hannah was beyond thrilled that she was getting this "movie" on garbage trucks and with huge eyes and a great big smile said "thank you" to the garbage truck man. I thought it was so sweet of him to do that...what a very nice guy. So we are borrowing this video until next week and when we return it next Thursday I plan to have a card for him from Hannah as a thank you.

Freakin' Tired!

So by now everyone knows that I am pregnant. I am so freakin' tired which is why I have not posted in quite some time. To give you an example of how freakin' tired I am at around 11:30 today I went downstairs to the Women's Locker Room and the wonderful ladies down there set up a cot for me in the staff area, gave me some folded up towels as pillows, and I slept. The room was as cold as an ice box but I was so tired that somehow I managed to get in about 45 minutes of sleep. I need to make a note to bring a blanket to work so if I ever need to go down there to sleep again I can take my blanket.
I remembered that our women's soccer coach went down there to sleep sometimes when she was pregnant with her first and I am so glad I took advantage...it helped me get SOME work done today. While I was there the softball coach came in to change and she was sweet enough to remind me that they have a nice couch in their office with a pillow and I am free to use that any time to nap b/c they won't be there too much now b/c they will be off recruiting. She said the head softball coach - who is also currently pregnant, uses it a lot also to sleep and it is probably more comfortable then the cot. What a great group of people I work with...now I have 2 places to nap during the day. :)
Last I want to wish my mom a Happy Birthday today. Apparently her co-workers got her a singing telegram and she was mortified. At least it made her birthday more interesting.
