Getting Our Groove on at IKEA

On Sunday afternoon we went shopping at IKEA. We were there quite a while...you know you come for one thing but end up looking at a zillion other things. Anyway after we had been there a while Hannah said she had to go potty...of course! This girl likes to check out public bathrooms. So away we went to the Family bathroom. Now while in IKEA there is music playing over the speakers in the store and when you go into the bathroom that same music is playing only it is incredibly loud! I almost felt like I was at a music concert. Hannah was facinated with this loud music and the speaker on the ceiling that was blarring it. The whole time we were there she just kept starring up at the ceiling. She went to the bathroom...yay! and then we were on our way. We ended up eating dinner there and then as we were getting ready to leave Hannah said she had to go potty again. I asked if she really had to go and she said yes. I said it was Daddy's turn to take her but she said, "No Mommy."...of course. So off we went to the bathroom again. As I am working on layering up the toilet seat with liners and toilet paper I turn around and Hannah is dancing and grooving like I have never seen her dance before. There was some 1950's rock song on and the girl was getting her groove on. I asked her if she still needed to go to the bathroom and she said no! That little bugger just wanted to go to the bathroom to listen to the loud music and dance not to go potty. I was practically on the floor I was laughing so hard watching her dance, but of course since I was in a public bathroom I remained on my feet. So we just hung out in the bathroom a little longer so she could dance. I swear I was laughing for the next hour just replaying the image of watching her dance in the bathroom to the loud music...crazy girl!

In other fabulous news...the Aggies won on Saturday in second home game at the Aggie Stadium. Much cooler weather then last time and a little rain but all in all a great time. Hannah of course used the potty at the stadium b/c we have to check out all public bathrooms but this one is super clean b/c they are brand new so I am not so freaked out by them. Go Ags!

Crappy Weather Again!

I swear we must have built our new Aggie Stadium on some sacred ancient burial ground b/c the forecast for our 2nd game there is suppose to be RAIN! You will also notice that for Saturday it says "Below Normal Temp". Since when has it rained this early in September? And if you notice today and Sunday are suppose to be sunny but not Saturday! As you may recall our very first football game there the weather was so dang hot that 80 + people had to be treated for heat exhaustion, 6 people went to the hospital and even Gunrock fainted! Again since when has it been so hot in September?! I tell you it is either a curse or really really bad luck.
And this is a complete joke!
Why would we be preparing for heat when the weather calls for rain?

Yard Reconstruction

The past 5 years of living at our house we have been looking at weeds. I must say we are pretty good at growing weeds. Anyway we kept saying we needed to do something with our yard but just never set our mind to it. So we have finally decided to do something and have started! Our neighbor Dave (who has the best front and backyard in the neighborhood I might add) does construction and apparently now landscaping too since we have hired him to re-do our backyard. It was just too big of an undertaking for us, especially with a toddler and so the work has started! He came in a mowed the weeds down, took a rototiller to the dirt and in general cleaned up our incredibly over grown back yard. Today the tree removal guys are there and they are taking 2 trees down in the back that have really served us no purpose and are quite unhealthy. As they were climbing in the tree this morning Hannah and Tulip were glued to the slider as they watched. Hannah kept laughing and saying "Monkey!" I guess they looked like monkeys to her in a tree. :) Once the tree removal is complete I am guessing the landscaping will begin. I have been assured by Dave that I can send out Hannah's b-day invitations saying that her party will be held in the backyard...yay! So here are some before and current shots of our backyard:

Whirl Wind Weekend

We had quite the weekend. It started out with Hannah taking gymnastics...her first class! Well really it is just running around and jumping on some gymnastics equipment and playing for 1/2 hour. Hannah really enjoyed it and her good friend Sydney from school is in the class too so it made for just that much more fun.

After gymnastics class on Saturday morning we dropped Tulip off at "camp" and headed to San Francisco for our movie debut. :) Adam was asked if our family would like to participate in an informational DVD about what being a Mason is all about. So we took the ferry to SF and then the Cable Car to Nob Hill to the Masonic Temple of California to record our clip. The trip there was interesting. We had been telling Hannah that we were going on a boat for like 2 days and the girl could not have been more excited. Big old smiles and she kept talking about this boat. Well as we get up to the boat she became kind of quite. We thought she was amazed with the boat when in reality the girl was terrified b/c the instant we stepped foot on the ferry and tried to sit down she started crying and screaming "ALL DONE!!" Well we weren't going to get off the boat now! So we had to walk her around and try and distract her but every now and then she would remember where she was and start crying...poor thing! But if you were to ask her today if she enjoyed the boat ride she would tell you yes...kids are funny. Anyway, so as we are on the ferry I am beginning to worry about how she is going to like the Cable Car b/c that in my eyes is a lot scarier then the boat...but she loved the Cable Car! With all its noise, rattling cables, incredibly steep hill climbs and being open to all the craziness that SF has to offer (we sat on the outside) she was in heaven. Everytime it stopped she was scream for more. We finally made it to the Masonic Temple, got set up for our movie shot, interviewed and then headed back down the hill on the Cable Car & back to Marin on the ferry. Luckily by the time we got to our ferry ride home Hannah was so tired that she slept through all of it. Here are some pictures of our adventure that day:

Getting ready for our "close up"

Then on Sunday we went to the SF Zoo. What fun! We saw all sorts of animals and Hannah lasted until 2:30! It was amazing considering she normally goes down for a nap at noon. Here is a picture of a peacock trying to steal Hannah's snack...

And who knew the sheep unionized?! (If you can't read the sign it says "Sheep Break Area")

All in all a great weekend...I think Hannah has the potential to become a CEO:

Baking in the Sun

This past weekend we went to the first Aggie Football Game at our brand new Aggie Stadium. While the stadium was awesome the weather was horrible! Way too hot...people were dropping like flies and needing medical attention. Hannah lasted about 5 minutes in the stands...long enough to take this picture and then spent the rest of the time in her stroller in the shade by a door that I found that was venting cold air...what an awesome find! I could see the fabulous big screen from there so I could watch the game and hang out in the shade too. Let's hope on the 22nd the temp drops dramatically and is comfortable enough to sit in at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Then on Sunday we went to a fabulous BBQ and the kids had so much fun running around and attacking a blow up palm tree. Ahh the simple things in life are so much fun when you are that little. Aren't all the kids adorable?!
